¿Cómo hacer un local que sea un objeto de diseño en sí mismo sin opacar a los diseños que alberga?
El local debía ser la máxima expresión de su función: un exhibidor. Tenia que albergar una gran variedad de objetos de disímil tamaño y calidad, con distintas necesidades a la hora de ser expuestos.
El local entero es una estantería mono-material. Una unidad que resuelve la exhibición, iluminación, almacenaje, el mostrador y hasta la marquesina en un solo gesto.
La fachada tiene la doble función de atraer las miradas y al mismo tiempo desaparecer para dejar ver el interior. Mediante los quiebres de las placas se genera una extensión de la vereda hacia el interior del local y un banco que invita a descansar.
Kabinett is a new concept-store in Buenos Aires, Argentina, designed by Ana Rascovsky arqs. (Argentina) in collaboration with Malin Hultmark (Sweden).
How to create a store that is a design object itself without outshining the objects it houses?
The store should be the ultimate expression of its function: a display. It had to accommodate a wide variety of objects of different sizes and qualities, all with their own needs at the time of exposure.
The whole store is a mono-material shelf, a unit that resolves the display, lighting, storage, countertop and even the canopy in a single gesture.
The facade has the dual function of attracting the glances and at the same time disappearing to reveal the interior. By means of the breaks of the plates, it is generated an extension of the sidewalk towards the interior of the shop, and a geat that invites to rest.
